Thursday August the 30th AD 1900 hundred opened up quite a cloudey morning
much like falling weather. We were on foot quite earley and to buissines
we went at as usual my wife to preparing the mornings meal whilst brought
the teem down from the upper field and fed them by the time i had fed my
wife call me to my mornings meal as i responded to the call, come in doors
washed my hands and face the we Seated our Selves to the table and portaken
of the Same when we were through with our meal my wife taken care of my
breakfast table and put evry thing in order for the day. Whilst i cought
then curried my teem put the Saddle on walker mounted on him and led Red
bird and taken them to middle Bosque to water. After they drank i then rode
back to my house. Dismounted taken my Saddle off of my horse then geered my
teem drove up to the upper Side of my wheat Stubble and went to braking the
Same i plowed untill half pas ten-oclock and was driven to the hous (house)
by a Shower of rain the Shower was from the South. it rained for a bout one
half hour tolerably hard then helt up and at half past Eleven oclock A.M.
it come a nothe (another) Short Shower lasting a bout ten minutes then checked
up again just be fore the first Shower came up my wife walked down to Old
lady Finnies to get Some lime to use a bout her chicken cooks,She obtained
a Small quanty enough to answer her perposes at present. She returned
between the too first Showers of rain but had too wade the mud coming back
home. A thing that She was not accustomed to doing for a great while past.
At half past one one oclock to day i watered then fed my teem and at that
time there was a dark cloud forming in the west with heavey peals of thunder
in that direction we eat our noons meal today at or about one oclock this
after noon of to day. After we were through with our meals vituals my wife
taken care of our dinner table then put evry thing about the Kitchen in good
Shape again we then taken a good rest for a while be fore going too work again
The thermometer at too-oclock this evening registers even 80 Degrees
tempature, at this writing there is a very dark cloud in the west and also
very heavey peels of thunder in Same direction .it appears to be working
Southward the clouds appears to be collecting all over the entire elements
but the wind Still remaines in the South So for up to 15 minutes of three
oclock in the evening of to day but So far it is feble in its action blowing
but little. But at the Same time i Suppose the wind is in line with the cloud
the cloud travails Slowly a round to the South and east with constant lightning
and heave peals of thunder. The clouds at half past three oclock rather divided
and a third Shower made its appearance at my place raing (raining) Sturdy and
Slow but a wetting Shower. But did not last a great while at half past fore
oclock the rain past on ceased to rain any more but once and a while one could
hear a low muttering thundering in the east. So as the rain is over with but
Still very cloudey in the East and South but as the Sun come out very bright
in the evening it caused the cloud in the east to Show much darker than it
would appear if the Sun did not give Such a briliant light Now as the rain is
over with and the grass and weeds are too wet to plow in i will go to preparing
Stove wood to burn in the Stove to prepare our meals vituals by in order that
i may not have it to get when i come in from wor very tiard. After my wife
finished her churning and put the butter a way in good Stile She then seated her
Self in her rocking chair then went to reading of the alma nacks of different
Kinds as She had as many as a half a dozen of different putt ups and none but
one gives a true Statement of the weather for 1900 hundred. After preparing
the Stove wood i taken my teem to the middl (Middle) Bosque to water riding
one and leading the other. After returning from the Bosque with my teem i
then taken them too my upper field and turned then in to graze i then walked
to the house and watered then fed the calves as it was too wet to Stake them
out after i was throug (through)my wife and my Self eat our evenings meal
when we were through with........ our meal when through my wife attended
too her Supper table. And put evry thing pertaining to the Supper table a
way in good order then as She was through She then Seated her Self for a rest
whilst i finished recording our days labor that we have done to day also the
weather as it come and went and as i am through we will depart to our bed of
repose by first asking the Lord to gard (guard) and protect us through the present
night as he has through the day just passed away. and when done with these frail
body of ours to hand us down to our grave in peace with the (Thee) and all man
Kind and in heaven Save us is my praye to night- Amen
